Finance Manager
The Opportunity
Step into a role where finance meets creativity. Artscape is seeking a Finance Manager who will not only ensure financial excellence and compliance but also contribute to the sustainability of a vibrant cultural institution. Purpose:Manage the performance of financial accounting activities in compliance with relevant legislation policies regulations frameworks standards and guidelines
Key Responsibilities
Approve all general ledger transactions and reconciliations
Oversee payroll processes including clearing suspense accounts
Identify investigate and resolve financial discrepancies
Perform bank signatory duties
Authorize journals and ensure ledger accuracy and integrity
Provide oversight to Debtors Creditors Payroll and bookkeeping functions
Review monthly debtor and creditor reports
Ensure accuracy of payroll cheque requisitions and GL coding
Manage month-end processes and resolve outstanding queries
Develop and maintain internal controls policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and legislation
Address and clear audit findings
Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements
Contribute to Annual Report preparation and presentation
Manage the asset register
Guide and support team members in compliance and operations
Strong knowledge of PFMA SCM and government prescripts (essential)
Experience with accounting systems (e.g. AccPac)
Supply Chain Management experience (advantageous)
Proficient in MS Office (Excel Word Email Internet)
Competencies & Attributes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
Proactive detail-oriented and deadline-driven
Ability to work flexibly and overtime when required
A passion for the arts and understanding of the cultural sector is highly desirable
