Role Overview :
The position is designed for a strategic leader who can oversee the entire lifecycle of palm-based oleochemical production site. This includes the entire cycle from feedstock processing to high-value specialty chemicals.
The focus is on Yield Optimization Sustainability Compliance and P&L Ownership.
Roles and responsibilities :
- Direct all daily plant operations ensuring production targets for fatty acids fatty alcohols and refined glycerine are met on time and within budget.
- Drive the digital transformation of the plant by implementing Industry 4.0 solutions automation and real-time process monitoring to enhance productivity.
- Develop and execute long-term CAPEX plans for plant expansion equipment upgrades and energy-efficient technology
- Full P&L accountability for the manufacturing site focusing on reducing "Cost Per Unit" and managing OPEX.
- Optimize Production Yield and Mass Balance to minimize feedstock waste and maximize the output of high-margin specialty chemicals.
- Monitor global feedstock price volatility and collaborate with the procurement team to align production schedules with market trends
Requirements
- A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering Chemistry or a related technical field. An MBA is highly advantageous.
- Minimum 1520 years of experience in chemical industrial manufacturing with at least 810 years in a senior leadership role specifically within the Oleochemicals industry.
- Deep knowledge of oleochemical processes (Hydrolysis Esterification Hydrogenation) and the ability to troubleshoot complex chemical engineering bottlenecks.
- Thorough understanding of Malaysian industrial laws (EQA 1974 OSHA 1994) and global sustainability frameworks.
- Proven experience in managing multi-million ringgit budgets and a track record of implementing Lean/Six Sigma projects that resulted in measurable cost savings.
