The position is designed for a strategic leader who can oversee the entire lifecycle of palm-based oleochemical production site. This includes the entire cycle from feedstock processing to high-value specialty chemicals.
The focus is on Yield Optimization Sustainability Compliance and P&L Ownership.
Roles and responsibilities :
Direct all daily plant operations ensuring production targets for fatty acids fatty alcohols and refined glycerine are met on time and within budget.
Drive the digital transformation of the plant by implementing Industry 4.0 solutions automation and real-time process monitoring to enhance productivity.
Develop and execute long-term CAPEX plans for plant expansion equipment upgrades and energy-efficient technology
Full P&L accountability for the manufacturing site focusing on reducing "Cost Per Unit" and managing OPEX.
Optimize Production Yield and Mass Balance to minimize feedstock waste and maximize the output of high-margin specialty chemicals.
Monitor global feedstock price volatility and collaborate with the procurement team to align production schedules with market trends
Requirements
A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering Chemistry or a related technical field. An MBA is highly advantageous.
Minimum 1520 years of experience in chemical industrial manufacturing with at least 810 years in a senior leadership role specifically within the Oleochemicals industry.
Deep knowledge of oleochemical processes (Hydrolysis Esterification Hydrogenation) and the ability to troubleshoot complex chemical engineering bottlenecks.
Thorough understanding of Malaysian industrial laws (EQA 1974 OSHA 1994) and global sustainability frameworks.
Proven experience in managing multi-million ringgit budgets and a track record of implementing Lean/Six Sigma projects that resulted in measurable cost savings.
