Job Summary
Role Overview
The Senior Finance Manager will oversee the full spectrum of project accounting and financial management for multiple property development projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting compliance with Bursa Malaysia requirements and providing strategic insights to support project and corporate decision-making. The incumbent will lead a team to manage end-to-end project accounts monitor cash flows and ensure financial governance across diverse developments.
Key Responsibilities
Project Accounting & Reporting
- Manage full sets of accounts for multiple property development projects including revenue recognition cost tracking and project profitability analysis.
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with MFRS and Bursa listing requirements.
- Consolidate project accounts into group reporting ensuring alignment with corporate finance standards.
Budgeting & Forecasting
Lead project budgeting exercises cash flow projections and variance analysis.
Monitor project expenditures against approved budgets highlighting risks and recommending corrective actions.
Provide financial forecasts to support project feasibility studies and investment decisions.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to Bursa Malaysia listing rules statutory requirements and internal control policies.
Liaise with external auditors tax agents and regulatory authorities on project-related matters.
Implement and maintain strong internal controls across project accounting processes.
Stakeholder Management
Partner with project directors QS teams and operations to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Present financial performance and project updates to senior management and the Board.
Build strong relationships with banks auditors and external stakeholders to facilitate financing and compliance.
- Leadership & Team Development
Lead and mentor a team of finance executives and accountants.
Drive continuous improvement in financial processes systems and reporting efficiency.
Foster a culture of accountability accuracy and proactive problem-solving.
Requirements
- Professional qualification (ACCA CPA ICAEW or equivalent) or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Minimum 810 years of finance experience preferably from property development or construction.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting revenue recognition and Bursa compliance.
- Proven track record in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical mindset with ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
