Responsible for decontamination inspection sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clean disinfect and decontaminate instruments using proper PPE and protocols
Assemble inspect wrap label and prepare instrument sets
Operate sterilization systems (Steam ETO Sterrad Steris) and document cycles
Store track and distribute sterile supplies per physician preference cards
Operate and maintain washers disinfectors ultrasonic cleaners and related equipment
Support inventory management stocking and supply tracking
Maintain a clean safe work environment and support team operations
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
SPD Certification (required or must obtain)
Medical Terminology knowledge
Anatomy & Physiology (course or certification)
Minimum 3 years of recent SPD experience
Basic computer skills and strong communication abilities
Knowledge of infection control and sterilization practices
