Kean Miller is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary in our Shreveport office. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support attorneys across various practice areas including oil and gas transactional matters general business real estate and litigation. The ideal candidate will be proactive organized and possess a strong passion for administrative excellence. Candidate must also have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Job Duties
- Draft proofread and review legal documents such as contracts pleadings memos and correspondence
- Organize and manage large volumes of legal documents while ensuring compliance with confidentiality standards
- Transcribe dictation
- E-File court filings
- Maintain attorney calendars
- Arrange meetings and conference calls
- Open new client files
- Run conflict checks
- Input time into billing software
- Edit bills
- Process check request and expense reports
- Close files
- Coordinate and prepare real estate closing documents for review by attorneys (i.e. escrow instructions deeds easements owners affidavits closing certificates entitlements and statements)
Technical Requirements
- Technological proficiency in software including Microsoft Office Word Excel and Adobe
- Familiar with or has the ability to become highly proficient in technology for timekeeping billing redline or a track changes document software and document management systems.
