Position Summary
KCSC is seeking a creative organized and mission-driven Communications andMarketing Coordinator to elevate the organizations visibility strengthen communityengagement and support fundraising and outreach the supervision of the Director of Development and Communications this role willlead day-to-day content creation and digital communications execution while supportingbroader communications and marketing strategies. The Coordinator will collaborate withprogram staff to develop compelling content that engages donors supporters andcommunity is an exciting opportunity for a strong communicator passionate about nonprofitwork community impact and storytelling across digital and print platforms.
What Success Looks Like (First 612 Months)
Consistent high-quality content across website and social media platforms
Increased engagement across digital channels
Timely well-coordinated communications supporting programs campaigns andevents
Strong collaboration with program staff to surface stories and impact
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and implementation of a communications and marketingplan aligned with KCSCs mission programs and strategic goals
Manage and continuously update KCSCs website social media platforms andGoogle Business Profiles to ensure timely engaging and mission-aligned content
Coordinate KCSCs monthly radio show including planning topics coordinating guestspeakers updating scripts and preparing promotional materials
Create and distribute newsletters flyers brochures annual reports press releasesand other communications materials
Collaborate with program staff to gather stories testimonials photos and othercontent for external communications
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications and marketing efforts andrecommend improvements based on results
Assist with the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns outreach efforts andspecial events
Help ensure consistent messaging branding and visual identity across allcommunications channels
Stay current on communications marketing and digital engagement trends andrecommend new strategies and tools
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in communications marketing English journalism nonprofitmanagement or a related field and at least one year of relevant professionalexperience OR
Associates degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant professionalexperience
Fluency in English is required
Bilingual verbal and written ability in English and Korean is strongly preferred;knowledge of written Chinese is a plus
Experience with website content management systems such as WordPress anddesign tools such as Elementor is highly desirable
Experience with graphic design video editing or digital content creation tools ( or Adobe Creative Cloud) is highly desirable
Familiarity with communications and fundraising platforms such as Constant Contactand DonorPerfect is desirable
Knowledge of website email and social media analytics is desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word PowerPoint Excel) is required
Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs Sheets Forms) is required
Skills Knowledge and Abilities
Excellent writing editing and verbal communication skills with the ability to createclear and compelling content for diverse audiences
Proficiency in social media platforms content management systems and digitalcommunications tools
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to managemultiple priorities and meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently while navigating cross-functional collaboration
Creative thinking and sound problem-solving abilities
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Interest in philanthropy nonprofit communications and fundraising
Experience with grant writing or fundraising communications is a plus
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and communicate with culturalsensitivity
Position Structure
This is a full-time professional position offering a competitive salary and benefits. Therole is primarily based at KCSCs headquarters in Annandale Virginia with a hybridschedule and some opportunity for remote work based on job responsibilities andorganizational needs.
