| Job Summary: |
This position will provide guidance consultant services and technical assistance to schools districts and other education agencies in the planning and development implementation monitoring and evaluation of Arizonas Migrant Education Program (MEP) authorized by Congress originally under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and revised to Every Student Succeeds Act.
Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel is required for this position.
The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs). Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.
| Job Duties: |
Review and approve MEP grants and Certificates of Eligibility (COEs) to meet state and federal requirements
Assist with reviewing and approving all desk monitoring documents related to Cycle monitoring in the EMAC system
Assist with monitoring Migrant programs for fiscal and program compliance and provide formal feedback and recommendations
Provide technical assistance and professional learning to MEP staff at the Local Education Agency (LEA) and State level
Assist LEAs in areas of grants family engagement monitoring identification & recruitment (ID&R) quality control and data
Review and update MEP policies and procedures related to migrant education program including manuals with updates
Assist in the planning of committees for the creation and implementation of the service delivery plan Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) and state program evaluation

MEP funding sources
MEP program requirements
Instructional needs of MEP students
Federal and state grants relating to education or a related field
Federal and state fiscal codes relating to Migrant programs
Federal regulations regarding MEP students

Software conducive to developing presentations
A Bachelors degree or equivalent experience to substitute for the degree is required
Skills in:

Analysis review and evaluation skills
Applying critical thinking in determining program efficacy

Multi-tasking/managing numerous projects while executing project detail
Understanding and using data
Teaching/providing professional development to educators

Masters degree
Fluency in Spanish
Experience with state and federal grants specifically related to Migrant programs
