Reporting to the Director Emerging and High Growth (EHG) the Market and Ecosystem Insights Analyst will be responsible for translating insights on emerging companies industries and market trends into actionable strategic initiatives enhancing the firms presence within the ecosystem supporting the development of EHG-focused talent and serving as the primary liaison between EHG and Oslers Client Development & Marketing (CD&M) team.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Analyze competitor strategies including geographic expansion lateral hiring and market positioning
  • Prepare quarterly local competitive intelligence reports identifying deal flow where Osler was not engaged
  • Develop quarterly local target prospect lists with actionable business development recommendations
  • Identify evaluate and engage directly with emerging geographic hubs to assess opportunities and build out a strong and visible presence for Osler
  • Monitor accelerators incubators research institutions and ecosystem hubs to identify promising early-stage and emerging companies
  • Support proactive outreach by identifying companies at key inflection points (ideation funding scaling regulatory milestones etc.)
  • Build and maintain an investor database covering both institutional investors and angel investors in each case that actively invest in Canadian companies
  • Build and strengthen the firms EHG brand presence by attending and supporting ecosystem events sponsored by the firm and national EHG-related conferences and events as requested by EHG Practice Director
  • Supports as requested by EHG Practice Director in assessing net new sponsorship opportunities
  • Support business development training and implement EHG specific business development goals for EHG associates
  • Accompany EHG junior associates to key networking and ecosystem events to support relationship building and professional development
  • Leverage the CD&M teams existing capabilities while contributing deeper EHG-specific expertise as needed
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all EHG-related RFP requests
  • Partner with the CD&M proposal team to manage deliver and review all EHG RFP materials prior to submission
  • Draft all EHG Deals & Cases content and submit directly to CD&M for execution
  • Provide weekly input on EHG-focused social media and marketing priorities

Position Requirements

Education and Experience

This position requires a College diploma or University Degree specializing in a business discipline and a minimum of three years of relevant experience. A Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree is considered an asset. Background or work experience in the EHG space Canadian Technology landscape coming from start-ups scaleups incubators innovation hubs or accelerators is also considered an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

We are currently working in a hybrid work arrangement which includes a requirement to work primarily in the office and flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

Compensation

Theârange of expected compensation for this position is $95000 - $115000 annually. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of factors including job-related knowledge education skills and experience.
