Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY

Explore the world of Records and Information Management and its impact on the Wastewater and Local Government sectors through this exciting summer internship. Working under the Records and Information Specialist and the Business Solutions team you will support South Platte Renews Records and Information Management program by assisting in impactful projects such as policy implementation physical and electronic record inventorying migration and digitization. You will grow your hard and soft skills in a thriving work environment that puts its people and innovation at the top of the priority list.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to: Records and Information Specialist

Direct Reports: None

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the update of the Records Retention Schedule and RIM Policies
  • Conducts Records Inventories for both digital and physical records
  • Creates records indices through collaborative work with other divisions.
  • Assist in the migration of digital records into the Electronic Records Management System (ERMS)
  • Assist in the destruction of expired records
  • Learn basic SharePoint skills
  • Assists in the fulfillment of Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) Requests
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education License Certification and Work Experience:

  • Intern 1 High school diploma or GED plus one year of undergraduate studies toward completion of a bachelors degree in a related field.
  • Intern 2 Bachelors degree plus on year of experience in specific department or progress toward completion of a masters degree in a related field.
  • Intern 3 High school diploma or GED plus at least one year of undergraduate studies toward completion of a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Intern 4 Post graduate degree (beyond masters degree) example: PhD

Experience working with records preferred.

  • Valid Colorado drivers license and a clear or acceptable MVR.

HOURLY PAY RATES

Intern I -$18.00/hour

Intern II -$22.00/hour

Intern III -$23.50 - $25.00/hour

Intern IV -$25.00 - $30.00/hour

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Office Work - Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment requiring sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs). Work requires visual and physical capabilities to work on computers and associated equipment for prolonged periods (up to 8 hours daily).

Field Work - Work will be performed at a water renewal facility where noise irritants dust dirt bacteria hazardous chemicals/air materials and fumes may be present.
