POSITION SPECIFICS
The successful candidate will:
Lead supervise and develop the Events Office team including assigning work setting priorities and ensuring high-quality execution across all events
Collaborate with various units within the college to plan coordinate and implement an array of events including college-wide town halls spring commencement Fall Career Fair Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony Alumni Symposium Be You in Tech Summit IST Insiders special initiatives of the Dean and community-building events that enhance engagement among faculty staff and students
Provide guidance and consultation to faculty and staff on event planning including logistics timelines resource allocation budgeting vendor coordination and alignment with college and university policies and priorities
Collaborate with key partners across the college including the Facilities Marketing and Communications and Information Technology teams to coordinate event logistics and execution
Manage vendor relationships including negotiating contracts for venues and catering and overseeing room reservations and scheduling processes
Evaluate event effectiveness through data feedback and outcomes; identify opportunities for improvement and implement strategic enhancements to future programming
Develop and communicate policies procedures and best practices for event planning across the college
MINIMUM EDUCATION WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree 3 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: NoneAdditional Qualifications:
Commitment to creating inclusive accessible and welcoming event experiences
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal with a customer-service mindset
Demonstrated experience supervising and leading a team including assigning work setting expectations and supporting staff development
Consistently positive and professional approach with a focus on collaboration and maintaining strong productive relationships across all units in the college
This is a hybrid position that requires regular weekly on-site work at the University Park campus combined with flexibility for remote work. Occasional weekend and evening work is required.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position including all possible grades is $51000.00 - $74000.00.Salary Structure - Information on Penn States salary structure
