Machining Prototype Technician

Madden Industrial Craftsmenis seeking an experiencedMachining Prototype Technicianto support the build and development of precision rotating machinery used in advanced energy systems.

This is a hands-on role focused onassembling machining and prototyping turbine and generator systems. Youll work closely with engineers to build and refine complex mechanical assemblies while supporting rapid prototype development.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys building complex hardware and working in an R&D environment.

Pay: $50-65/hr

Machining Prototype Technician Responsibilities:

• Assemble hydroturbine and generator components including rotors stators shafts bearings and housings

• Perform precision alignment of rotating assemblies including rotorstator airgap verification

• Support prototype builds testing teardown and design iterations

• Perform machining operations such as lathe milling drilling and grinding

• Fabricatate custom fixtures jigs and assembly tooling

• Perform dimensional inspection using precision metrology tools

• Work with engineers to improve manufacturability and assembly processes

Machining Prototype Technician Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in similar role

• Experience assembling precision mechanical or rotating equipment (turbines motors generators compressors etc.)

• Experience operating multi-axis CNC machines to create shafts turbines runners fixtures and tooling

• Strong hands-on mechanical and machining skills

• Understanding of hydro turbines and elcetrical machines (stators windings insulation systems)

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

• Familiarity with precision measurement tools

• Experience with instrumentation and controls (pressure transducers thermocouples TRDs etc)

• Experience in prototype R&D or advanced manufacturing environments preferred
