Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (Travel Contract)
Location: Hyannis MA 02601 United States
Job Type: Travel / Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM 7:00 AM) Rotating Days Every Other Weekend & Holiday
Position Summary:
Responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory care to patients with cardiopulmonary conditions across a variety of clinical settings. This role involves critical care support emergency response and the administration of life-saving respiratory therapies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Administer oxygen therapy aerosol medications and ventilator support
- Operate and manage mechanical ventilators and respiratory equipment
- Perform diagnostic procedures including ABGs and pulmonary function testing
- Respond to emergency situations such as codes and rapid response events
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to develop care plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatments
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
- Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Respiratory Therapist license (Massachusetts)
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS (American Heart Association) required
Preferred Qualifications:
- RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) credential preferred
- PALS certification preferred
- Experience in ICU ER or trauma/critical care settings
- Strong knowledge of ventilator management and acute care protocols
