Job Summary
A vacancy has arisen for a Flight Sergeant (Engineering A Eng Tech / Air Tech Mgr (Any)) to serve as FS EPDT Future Skills at RAF Cosford on Additional Duties Commitment (180) Terms of Service (ToS) with an initial proposed start date of 05 October 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidate status).
FS EPDT Future Skills will be part of a newly established team for the development and delivery of Accreditation through recognised industry Professional Bodies for the Engineering Profession personnel.
In addition they are responsible for the following:
- Acting as one of the PanDefence Skills leads on behalf of the Engineering Profession.
- Serving as the subject matter expert for Advanced Manufacturing and Repair (AM&R) future skills engaging with single Services government departments industry partners and academic institutions to align qualifications accreditation routes and education pathways with professional standards.
- Supporting the Engineering Profession Advisors in the accreditation and upskilling of future talent through close engagement with the CTS and Phase 2 Training Schools.
Regular travel is an essential requirement of this role. Due to the breadth of responsibilities the post demands a high degree of flexibility and the ability to travel frequently to various locations to maintain operational effectiveness and provide critical support to personnel training establishments and developmental programmes.
