Purpose of the Role
The M&E Officer is responsible for designing implementing and managing monitoring and evaluation systems to measure program performance and impact. The role ensures data quality supports evidence-based decision-making and contributes to continuous program improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Framework & Tools Development
o Design and implement M&E frameworks indicators and data collection tools.
o Align M&E systems with donor requirements and organizational goals.
Data Collection & Analysis
o Collect quantitative and qualitative data from program activities.
o Conduct field visits to monitor project implementation.
o Analyze data and generate insights to inform program strategies.
Reporting & Documentation
o Prepare timely and accurate reports for management and donors.
o Ensure data quality consistency and integrity across all projects.
o Document lessons learned and best practices.
Capacity Building
o Train staff and partners on M&E tools methodologies and reporting standards.
o Provide technical support to program teams in integrating M&E practices.
Learning & Improvement
o Facilitate program reviews and evaluations.
o Provide recommendations for program adjustments and improvements.
o Support knowledge management and organizational learning initiatives.
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Statistics Social Sciences Development Studies or related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation within development or humanitarian programs.
Experience with donor-funded projects preferred.
Knowledge of M&E methodologies frameworks and tools.
Skills & Competencies
Strong data collection analysis and reporting skills.
Proficiency in M&E software (SPSS STATA Excel or similar).
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams.
High attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
