Key Responsibilities
Provide maternal and newborn care in NGO-supported health facilities and outreach programs.
Conduct safe deliveries manage obstetric emergencies and provide neonatal resuscitation.
Offer antenatal postnatal and family planning services.
Educate mothers and families on reproductive health nutrition and newborn care.
Identify and refer high-risk pregnancies to appropriate facilities.
Support community-based maternal health initiatives and awareness campaigns.
Maintain accurate records for monitoring and reporting to donors and stakeholders.
Train and supervise community midwives and traditional birth attendants where applicable.
Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelors degree in Midwifery or Nursing (with midwifery specialization).
Valid registration with the national Nursing/Midwifery Council.
Prior experience in NGO humanitarian or rural maternal health programs preferred.
Skilled in emergency obstetric care and culturally sensitive practices.
Ability to work independently in low-resource and high-pressure environments.
