The B2C Insurance portfolio is critical to the growth of the Loyalty core business and expansion into new opportunities with these businesses contributing significant growth to Loyalty earnings.

As the Head of Insurance you will have accountability for ensuring the ongoing success of the Qantas Group B2C Insurance businesses which comprise of Travel Health General insurance and the Insurance Wellbeing Program. Your role leads the strategy formulation negotiation and ongoing management and key strategic partnerships. 

You will be responsible for the design development and execution of a 3-5 year strategy to achieve growth and member targets for the portfolio of Insurance businesses. This includes bringing industry leading thinking around current and emerging trends in the insurance sector challenging traditional ways to unlock exciting new member led opportunities aligning and leading cross functional teams and optimising existing and new strategic partnerships that will provide levers to improve revenue and margin.

The Head of Insurance is a key member of the Qantas Loyalty B2C businesses tribe leadership team and is responsible for leading the insurance squad to achieve growth targets. You will work alongside peers to identify synergies that drive significant commercial outcomes for Loyalty and engaging with airline stakeholders to derive group benefits. This role is responsible for cultivating strong personal and working relationships with Senior Leaders within Qantas Loyalty (CEO CFO etc) external commercial partners and internal stakeholders across Qantas Loyalty and within the Qantas Group to achieve commercial and strategic outcomes.

What youll bring to the role: 

  • 10 years senior commercial leadership experience preferably in Insurance or Financial Services
  • Extensive background in insurance including commercial/sales product and channel/digital experience
  • Involvement in strategy development and implementation especially in a regulated environment
  • Proven track record in building and growing revenue and CX through mobilising and aligning cross functional teams to deliver
  • Experience in identifying negotiating and nurturing strategic partnerships in the insurance industry
  • Demonstrated experiencing in margin improvement through varied levers
  • Demonstrated understanding of applicable regulatory issues in particular within the insurance industry
  • Excellent people and team development skills
  • Excellent stakeholder and influencing capabilities with experience present to and influencing through senior executive levels
  • Customer driven leader with the ability to drive change challenge the status quo and high levels of motivation
  • Innovative collaborative and responsive style
  • Strategic thinking logical and analytical problem solver
