Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Case Manager with a strong background in Utilization Review and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI). The RN will be responsible for coordinating patient care ensuring appropriate resource utilization and supporting documentation accuracy within a hospital setting.
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
- 5x8-hour shifts per week
- Monday start
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage patient care plans across the continuum of care
- Perform utilization review to ensure appropriate level of care and resource use
- Support clinical documentation improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Communicate effectively with patients families and care teams
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license/registration
- BLS certification (must be current or eligible for recertification)
- Minimum 1.5 years recent acute care experience (within the last 2 years)
- Required: Inpatient pediatric experience
- Experience in hospitals of similar or larger size/trauma level
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Clean professional record (no license suspension or liability claims)
- Ability to pass background check drug screening and health clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Acute care experience
- Experience with Epic EMR
