Production Manager FMCG

The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in a production management role specifically within the FMCG sector

Proficiency in isiZulu is advantageous as is experience managing large teams and working with machine-related operations

Experience in a food production environment is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a production management role within the FMCG industry
• Tertiary qualifications in production management
• HACCP / FSSC / ISO 22000
• Demonstrated experience in managing a team of 100 staff
• Experience working with machine-related operations is essential
• Previous experience in a food production environment is highly preferable
• Strong understanding of production processes quality control and health & safety standards
• Excellent problem-solving organizational and leadership skills
• Strong leadership and team management abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily production operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
• Lead mentor and manage a team of over 100 staff fostering a positive and productive work environment
• Develop and implement production schedules and processes to meet company objectives
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Monitor production metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g. quality control maintenance logistics) to ensure smooth operations
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to production machinery and equipment
• Manage budgets and optimize costs without compromising on quality
• Prepare and present regular reports on production performance to senior management
