Job Summary
Job Purpose
The Trade Marketing Lead is responsible for implementing effective trade marketing strategies across allocated Classic and 3rd Party markets. This role plays a critical part in enhancing brand visibility driving sales growth and ensuring brand consistency within the market. The Trade Marketing Lead will collaborate with cross- functional teams to execute trade marketing initiatives and support our markets contributing to our companys success.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy Development
- Support the Trade Marketing Director in implementing the trade marketing strategy as well as monitor the Activations performance (per brand/market/channel) of the Classic & Third-party markets
Market Planning & Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends consumer preferences and competitor activities within the alcohol industry in Africa.
Conceptualization Production and Implementation:
- Connect the marketing central toolkits and calibrate them based on the market/brand stage and needs
Promotion Campaigns & Merchandising:
- Work with creative teams to develop marketing materials and POS (Point of Sale) displays.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute promotional campaigns product launches and trade events.
Internal & External Stakeholder Management:
- Be the liaison with the set of markets to provide adequate support and share adequate guidance and playbooks based on market size and business/brand development stages in order to ensure highest impacts and ROI of Pernod Ricard activities in the Classic & Third-Party markets.
- Work in close collaboration with the markets as well as PR Africa support functions based in Johannesburg especially Marketing & Procurement to ensure consistency with respective Brand Cos global guidelines and alignment with the Pernod Ricard Ways of Working.
Key Competencies and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Marketing Business or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in trade marketing preferably in the FMCG industry.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret market data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and marketing software.
- Willingness to travel within Africa as needed.
