Purpose of the Job:

To ensure uninterrupted availability of materials and services at optimal cost and quality through effective planning vendor development negotiation and inventory control ensuring zero line stoppage and achievement of budgeted savings.

Description of main tasks:

The Incumbent is responsible for the following tasks:

1) Planning & Scheduling

• Plan for continuous availability of all raw material and packing material on weekly planning cycle.
• Scheduling(Prepone/postpone of shipment/arrival of material as per requirement price forecasting and provide report to management for further action.

2) Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Identifying reliable suppliers.
• Developing long-term sourcing strategies.
• Ensuring cost competitiveness and supply continuity
• To conduct systematic / periodic assessment of vendors based on various criterions such as % for rejections quality improvement rate timely delivery credit terms etc.
• To conduct audit of vendors premises to assess their capability and credibility.
• To negotiate with suppliers for the best terms / costs
• To maintain a database of quality suppliers and backup of purchase with confidentiality
• Develop alternate vendors for quality improvement and for better price.
• Liase with vendor incase of any rejection for effective resolution (compensation of any loss from the vendor and obtain CAPA)
• To proactively follow up with the vendors to meet deadlines/targets and inform / communicate concerned people about the status on routine basis.

3) Inventory Management

• Zero line stoppage due to material shortage.
• Maintain and control inventory within budgeted inventory norms
• Implement KANBAN and GIT system for local purchase.

4) Timely Payments & Report Submission

• Responsible for checking of all Invoices attached with GRN and submitted to Accounts.
• Follow up with A/c Dept. for timely Payment of vendors & timely submission of monthly reports to management on material status usage rejections delays etc.

5) Cost Management & Negotiation

• Price negotiation and contract finalization
• Achieving cost savings and value optimization
• Managing total cost of ownership (TCO)

6) Develop New Product Vendor

• Develop a new vendor /product as per market need.
• Liase with the product development team to get product outsourced from supplier or manufacture inhouse.
• Liase with supplier to enhance qualities of existing product to develop new product as per requirement.

7) Sustainability & Ethics

• Ensuring ethical sourcing practices
• Supporting sustainability initiatives

8) Market Intelligence

• Tracking market trends pricing and supplier landscape.
• Understanding global supply dynamics.

9) Contract & Compliance Management.

• Drafting and managing purchase agreements
• Ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
• Adhering to company procurement policies

10) WAM & EHS

Support WAM Supply Chain Pillar 5 S and common WAM goals of the organization

Responsible for adhering EHS policies of the organization & ESG initiatives.

Job Specifications:

Professional Education:

B.E/B. Tech: Preferably Mechanical/Chemical.

Professional Experience (how long)

12 15 years of experience in Manufacturing industry
