Our client is a dominant force in the South African Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) sector managing a massive footprint of high-volume retail outlets and a sophisticated Restaurant Support Centre. This is an organization where technology isnt just a back-office functionit is the heartbeat of the customer experience and operational profitability.

Performance Objectives for Year One

  • Objective 1: Infrastructure Stabilization & High Availability Within the first 6 months conduct a comprehensive audit of the LAN WAN and Wi-Fi across all restaurant locations to identify single points of failure. Implement a redundancy and optimization plan that ensures 99.9% uptime for critical POS and back-office connectivity during peak trading hours.
  • Objective 2: Security Posture & Compliance Overhaul By the end of year one fully standardize and harden the network security environment. This includes the successful migration and optimization of FortiGate firewall policies across the estate and the full deployment of the Microsoft 365 security stack (Defender/EOP) to achieve 100% compliance with internal IT standards.
  • Objective 3: Cloud & Endpoint Modernization (Intune) Lead the project to migrate all end-user and store-based computing devices to Microsoft Intune for centralized management. Establish automated compliance policies and device configuration profiles to reduce manual support intervention by 25%.
  • Objective 4: Scalable Infrastructure for Growth Partner with the operations team to successfully architect and deploy the IT infrastructure for all new restaurant openings and refurbishments scheduled for the financial year ensuring on-time and first-time-right technical delivery for every store launch.
  • Objective 5: Team Excellence & Service Delivery Lead and coach the IT Support team to improve Tier 2/3 resolution times. Establish clear escalation paths and technical documentation standards that empower the team to resolve complex infrastructure issues with minimal business disruption.
