Graduate Assistant for Women's Basketball (Part-time)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to student-athletes by showing techniques and working to improve performance during practice and games
• Provide feedback on individual workouts and group practice
• Assist in recruiting new team members and retaining current players
• Responsible for recording video footage and assessing plays
• Oversee team travel
• Prepare for games
• Identify skills and weaknesses
• Fulfill other duties as needed

Qualifications:According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.

Education

• Bachelors degree required
• Current enrollment in a graduate program

Experience

• Competitive playing and/or youth coaching experience
• Certifications: Sport-specific certifications preferred

Required Skills

• Demonstrated Christian faith and commitment to IWUs mission and values
• Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with NAIA institutional and legal standards (HIPAA FERPA etc.)
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
• Commitment to ongoing professional and personal development
