Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with strong expertise in banking payments and API-driven integration projects to support the modernization of Interac e-Transfer capabilities. The role focuses on upgrading to Interac e-Transfer API version 3.7 and enabling readiness for Canadas Real-Time Rail (RTR) ecosystem. The ideal candidate will bridge business compliance fraud and technical teams to deliver scalable real-time payment solutions across a complex banking ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business fraud management compliance and Central 1 teams to identify and resolve integration and requirements gaps.
  
• Analyze current-state Interac e-Transfer implementations by reviewing architecture API specifications and integration flows across Digital Banking Azure integration layer Central 1 and Temenos T24.
  
• Review and interpret API documentation from Central 1 and Interac and translate it into clear technical and functional requirements.
  
• Define API requirements including request/response structures payload definitions validation rules and versioning standards.
  
• Perform data and field mapping between channels integration APIs Central 1 and downstream core banking systems (Temenos T24).
  
• Define and maintain error code mapping documentation across systems to ensure standardized exception handling monitoring and reporting.
  
• Support end-to-end analysis of payment flows including RTR transaction lifecycle and Interac e-Transfer processing.
  
• Ensure integration solutions align with banking standards security and compliance requirements.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 7 years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) or Technical Business Analyst in banking or financial services.
  
• 3 years of strong experience in API-heavy integration projects including microservices-based and distributed system architectures.
  
• Strong understanding of Interac e-Transfer (preferably version 3.7) and RTR (Real-Time Rail) transaction lifecycle including:
  
  • Money Movement Messages
    
  • Request-to-Pay (RTR) Messages
    
  • Deposit / Fulfillment Messages
    
  • Lifecycle & Exception Messages
    
  • Directory & Notification Messages
    
• Hands-on experience with data mapping interface specifications and system integration analysis.
  
• Strong knowledge of banking payment systems and digital transaction flows.
  
• Experience working with core banking systems such as Temenos T24 (nice to have).
  
• Familiarity with Azure integration layers or cloud-based integration platforms (preferred).
  

Nice to Have

• Experience in Real-Time Payments (RTP) or ISO 20022-based systems
  
• Exposure to Central 1 payment ecosystem
  
• Understanding of fraud management and compliance in banking payments
  
• Experience in large-scale digital banking transformation programs
