Senior People Partner
This is a pivotal leadership opportunity at Westpac as we move into the next important phase of our people operating model. Its a phase focused on fundamentally changing how we partner with the business and how the business experiences People.

As A Senior People Partner you will sit at the centre of this shift acting as a trusted strategic partner to executive leaders.
We are seeking to fill a number of Senior People Partner roles across dedicated portfolios with clear accountabilities.
Whats the role
As a Senior People Partner you will operate as a strategic advisor and trusted counsel partnering with senior leaders toshape and deliver people strategies that enable business performance regulatory compliance and sustainable growth.
Youll work closely with Heads of People People Partners Centres of Expertise and shared services to deliver integrated outcomes across workforce planning organisational design and change.
What will I be accountable for
As a Senior People Partner you will be accountable for:
- Leading the people strategy aligned to business objectives risk appetite and regulatory expectations.
- Acting as an escalation point for people-related risk and regulatory reviews.
- Contributing to enterprise governance forums committees and strategic projects as a Senior People representative.
- Influencing coaching and challenging senior leaders to strengthen leadership capability accountability and performance.
- Providing expert oversight of complex matters ensuring consistency fairness and regulatory compliance.
- Embedding a strong risk-aware ethical and inclusive culture in line with organisational values.
- Leading and influence large-scale organisational change transformation and restructuring initiatives.
- Partnering with COE leaders to deliver integrated scalable people solutions.
- Using People insights to inform senior leader decision-making.
What do I need
You will be a highly experienced Senior HR Partner bringing:
- Proven People Partnering experience across a large portfolio in a complex regulated environment.
- Strategic thinker who translates people priorities into clear commercially aligned plans.
- Strong regulatory governance and people risk expertise including sensitive matters and escalation.
- Proven organisational design and change leadership across portfolios and enterprise programs.
- High-impact influencer and coach who challenges and supports senior leaders to lift performance.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen to prioritise and drive pragmatic decisions.
- A strong commitment to inclusion ethics and a sustainable culture.
