About the role

selectability is seeking an Acting Regional Manager for Cairns from the 20 April 2026to 5 May 2026.

The Regional Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all service operations within the Cairns region ensuring the delivery of highquality NDIS supports across multiple program areas. This role focuses on strengthening organisational presence by building effective relationships with key stakeholders fostering community connections and ensuring strong operational performance. The Regional Manager drives sustainable growth through sound financial management workforce development and adherence to industry standards. A key part of the role is recruiting mentoring and supporting a capable local team to deliver personcentred compliant and efficient services to NDIS participants.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all operations related to NDIS (Community Access Support Coordination Supported Independent Living Medium- and Short-Term Accommodation) within the Cairns region
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders across clinical community and primary health services as well as local and state government agencies and private industry
  • Whilst growing recipient base key focus is managing budgets whilst operating in a surplus position
  • Recruit a local workforce; train mentor coach and support local employees
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards

About you

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams programs and services
  • Demonstrated experience in the Mental Health Industry (highly desirable)
  • Highly developed person-centred communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including presentation skills
  • Highly developed analytical problem solving and numerical skills including the ability to compile analyse data and prepare reports
  • A demonstrated high level of attention to detail with a consistent approach
  • A demonstrated ability to prioritise conflicting priorities as required
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision with the capacity to exercise initiative in the application of work processes and procedures and establish objectives and outcomes
  • A demonstrated ability to show empathy and compassion
  • High level of organisational and administrative skills
  • A proven ability to think critically and approach challenges with innovation

Role requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in business and/or mental health and/or child safety and/or aged care or a related field
  • Current open/P1 C Class Queensland drivers licence
  • Roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance
  • Child Safety & Personal History Screening check
  • Positive notice working with children (blue card)
  • NDIS workers screening clearance
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Quality Safety and You
  • Ability to work out of hours work and travel as required
  • Required to be on-call and available seven days a week
  • A commitment to model the selectability values
