We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Institutional Sales Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Lead institutional sales and client engagement on given South East Asia names to deliver asset growth net new flows incremental revenues and reach sales targets across all long term asset classes (all public and private market solutions except liquidity and ETF which are out of scope)
  • Proactively originate new business opportunities and drive disciplined follow-up with investment and support teams to successfully close deals onboard new clients and increase net new inflows.
  • Support Senior Sales and Coordinate effectively with internal HSBC Asset Management stakeholders (investment teams product product specialists client services operations legal risk finance reporting and investment restrictions) to deliver client outcomes.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships across key institutional segments including Official Sector Institutions Sovereign Wealth Funds Financial Institutions Group insurers banks securities houses and corporates.
  • Be a strong team player and Partner with HSBC Bank stakeholders (Global Banking Relationship Managers Global Markets Custody Global Liquidity and Cash Management and Commercial Banking) to maximise cross-sell and revenue opportunities.
  • Represent HSBC Asset Management at client events and external conferences and provide product feedback to support long-term product strategy and business growth.

To be successful you will need:

  • Advanced experience in asset management with strong exposure to institutional client coverage and investment solutions across asset classes
  • Advanced experience in sales and business development including originating opportunities converting pipeline and fundraising with institutional clients.
  • Advanced experience in alternative investments (strong advantage).
  • Strong presentation communication relationship management and organisational skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Proven ability to work effectively across global regions and multiple lines of business in a collaborative team-oriented way.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across South Asia and the wider Asia region.

The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting. Subject to local laws this will require the individual to satisfactorily pass a series of additional checks as part of the recruitment process and on an ongoing basis if appointed to the role.
