The Technical Leader serves as a recognized expert in Medium and High Voltage electrical systems for Gas Power applications owning the technical scope for Medium Voltage distribution systems supporting Generator Excitation and LCI High Voltage switchyards Medium and High Voltage power cables fault recording systems and Iso Phase Busducts while providing technical leadership from tendering through execution and service establishing and standardizing engineering solutions supporting resolution of complex equipment and site issues collaborating across Engineering ITO Quality Sourcing Services and Site teams representing the organization in customer technical engagements and working closely with Chief Technical Leaders Technical Leaders TTLs and Item Owners to develop maintain and harmonize electrical system solutions.Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Ownership
- Provide technical leadership and expertise for:
- Medium Voltage distribution systems (for Generator Excitation and LCI)
- High Voltage switchyards including AIS and GIS interfaces
- HV and MV power cables including design routing sizing and accessories
- Fault recorders and disturbance monitoring systems
- Iso Phase Busduct systems and associated interfaces
- Own and maintain technical standards Design Practices specifications and guidelines ensuring lessons learned and field feedback are systematically incorporated.
- Enlarge his expertise to Power distribution digital and cabling to support full project execution
Engineering & System Design
- Master system studies and calculations including:
- Shortcircuit levels
- Thermal and dielectric cable sizing
- Earthing and bonding concepts
- Interface constraints between generator busduct transformer and switchyard
- Master equipment interfaces including:
- Foundations and civil interfaces
- Protection and control signals
- Auxiliary power supplies
- Communication systems
- Lead technical design reviews to ensure robustness safety cost effectiveness and compliance with IEC IEEE and applicable local regulations.
Project & CrossFunctional Support
- Guide task sequencing and ensure timely accurate technical inputs from crossfunctional engineering teams.
- Support development and integration of new technologies tools and standard solutions across engineering organizations.
- Provide expert technical support for RCA (Root Cause Analysis) NCR (NonConformity Reports) and major site issues including direct customer interaction when required.
- Support ITO teams during the tender phase by validating customer technical requirements and managing technical deviations.
- Support Sourcing in vendor qualification technical assessments and product validation activities.
- Sites support through ER and NCR and able to cover all electrical scope
Standardization & Continuous Improvement
- Drive standardization initiatives costreduction actions and Hoshin objectives within the technical scope.
- Mentor engineers develop training materials and contribute to continuous technical skill development within the organization.
- Communicate technical risks issues and progress clearly and effectively to management and stakeholders.
What youll Bring - Required Qualifications
- Bachelors (BS) or Masters (MS) degree in electrical or power systems engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in MV/HV electrical systems for power generation transmission grid interconnection or related fields.
