Lock shop is responsible for all locking devices at MUSC including High security Narcotic areas doors and equipment. Answers maintenance calls for repairing and unlocking doors file cabinets desks and lockers. Perform preventive maintenance on door hardware locking systems. Performs related and non-related duties as required.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and three years trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Some positions require a commercial drivers license. Some positions require EPA-approved freon recovery certification. Physical Requirements: (Note: The following descriptions are applicable to this section: Continuous - 6-8 hours per shift; Frequent - 2-6 hours per shift; Infrequent - 0-2 hours per shift) Ability to perform job functions in an upright position. (Frequent) Possess good grip strength. (Continuous) Ability to fully use both hands/arms. (Continuous) Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders. (Frequent) Ability to fully use both legs. (Continuous) Ability to reach in all directions. (Frequent) Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. (Continuous) Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function. (Continuous) Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted. (Frequent) Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more assisted. (Frequent) Ability to carry objects on plane on ladders up stairs etc. weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted. (Frequent) Ability to push/pull equipment carts. (Continuous) Ability to maintain hearing acuity with correction. (Continuous) Ability to operate winches come-alongs jacks etc. (Continuous) Possess maintain dexterity in order to use hand tools both manual and powered. (Continuous) Ability to qualify physically for respirator use. (Continuous) Additional New Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license. Ability to obtain and maintain EPA Approved Freon recovery certification.
