Customer Master Data Specialists are responsible for creation and maintenance of all Airgas customer accounts in SAP. This includes not only the information about the customer but also their contacts pricing ordering information and preferences account reps and more. Account Management:
- Efficiently handle all internal inbound requests for the creation and updates to customer accounts while keeping with data governance policies
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the account creation and modification processes to provide effective support and resolve related inquiries.
- Work closely with Senior Customer Master Data (CMD) Specialists on complex account activities including branch closures openings mergers and acquisitions.
- Collaborate with multiple teams including sales operations and finance to restructure large complex accounts effectively. Monitor accounts to guarantee the appropriate collection or transfer of cylinders timely closure of open orders and closure of the previous customer account.
Operational Knowledge & Understanding:
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of fundamental branch operations including order entry procedures inventory management and customer service protocols.
- Gain a deep understanding of how Customer Master Data impacts all teams within the organization including sales operations finance and logistics.
- Collaborate with business process experts to develop and refine comprehensive standard operating procedures (SOPs) process flow diagrams and related documentation for CMD activities.
Pricing & System Utilization:
- Process inbound requests for new pricing agreements and pricing updates to existing customer accounts with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy while ensuring consistency and compliance with established pricing strategies.
- Work closely with bulk teams to manage asset billings location placement and pricing.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Maintain clear and professional communication via email chat platforms and telephone to address account-related issues and provide effective solutions.
- Document all communication and issue resolution activities in the appropriate systems.
Process Improvement & Efficiency:
- Proactively engage in learning and mastering new software tools systems and technologies relevant to the Customer Master Data (CMD) function.
- Identify and implement more streamlined and efficient methods for accomplishing daily tasks contributing to improved productivity and reduced processing times.
- Document new processes and suggest updates to existing workflows to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Additional Responsibilities:
Undertake other projects or duties as assigned by management demonstrating flexibility and willingness to contribute to the overall team success.

Required Education:
High School Diploma/GED required
Required Length & Type of Experience:
Previous SAP experience preferred
Minimum 2 years of prior experience in an office environment with customer facing activities internal or external
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Strong computer skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite as well as a demonstrated ability to utilize financial applications within SAP.
Attention to detail.
Ability to manipulate & analyze large amounts of data.
Exhibits customer focused behavior such as building positive relationships and strives to understand customers needs both internal and external.
Ability to deal with difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills with the ability to make independent decisions based on investigation and judgment as well as ability to discern when to escalate issues.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adjust communication methods based on customer situations.
A positive approach and willingness to learn coupled with the ability to work in a team environment.
