Senior Software Engineer (Production Engineering)

The Cloud Engineering team at Seismicis responsible forinfrastructure deployed through infrastructure-as-code andGitOpspractices across all major clouds. TheProduction EngineeringTeam within Cloud Engineering advances the Seismic DevOps Model byabstracting awaythe complexities of infrastructure and operational processes by building tools and frameworks.

The Production Engineering team provides vision and guidance along with other Cloud Engineering teams to the organization for development and problem-solving and strives for cloud agnostic standardized approaches wherever possible.The ProductionEngineeringisexpandingto be globallydistributedand an expansion of our North America based team.You will be at the forefrontof this endeavoras the first member(s) of our team in India.

The Production Engineering teams focus is on using development skills to continually build andimprovetooling and processesto empower not only ourselves but also the Engineering organization.

• Comfortable asking questions and respectfully voicing your opinion in group settings.

• Comfortable providing and discussing a recommendation after evaluating multiple solutions.

• Experienced working in a software development environment with a strong focus on backend engineering API design and building internal developer platforms.

• Production-levelexpertisein object-oriented or scripting languages with a strong preference for PythonorC#.

• Familiarity with configuration management and infrastructure-as-code tools (such as Ansible or Terraform) to bridge the gap between software and operations.

• Havea strong knowledge of Linux Kubernetes networking and infrastructure fundamentals in a multi-region microservice architecture environment.

• Comfortable collaboratingwithina global team.

• Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub CoPilot (e.g. code generation infrastructure-as-code suggestions test generation issue troubleshooting).

• Able to critically evaluate AI-generated outputsidentifyfailure modes and apply sound engineering judgment before promoting changes to production.

• Curious and pragmatic about applying AI to operational problems (reliability observability incident response cost optimization developer experience) rather than viewing AI as a novelty.

• Understands the importance of data quality context and access controls when using AI in environments with sensitive production data.

• Interested in continuously learning and adapting as AI tooling and capabilities evolve within the software development lifecycle.

• Drive development and maintenance of tenantmanagementtooling and automation.

• Design and build robust software solutions and APIs toeliminatemanual work related to tenant creation deletion renaming migration and refresh processes.

• Contribute to best practices andbuild outtools and frameworks to increase productivity of our Engineering group.

• Work closely with application development teams and incorporate their feedback to improve developer experience and reduce toil.

• Present plans and proposals to Engineering Leadership.

• Lead projects as we executeobjectivesshared across our Production Engineering team.

• Provide guidance to less senior engineers.

• Participate ina 12 hourson 12 hours off on-call rotation within the Production Engineering team.

• Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate software development testing and documentation while ensuring reliability security and compliance standards are met.

• Apply AI techniques to reduce operational toil such as automated analysis of automation failures.

• Design and build internal tooling that incorporates AI capabilities whenappropriate.
