The Cardiac Device Specialist (CDS) assists physicians advanced practitioners and the CIED clinic supervisor in monitoring patients with cardiac implantable electronic devices. Proficient in CIED programming the CDS manages patient diagnostics via remote monitoring websites analyzes transmissions enters data into Paceart and Epic maintains system integrity and refers to EP physicians as needed. The CDS must meet quality safety and value standards under the direction of the clinic supervisor physicians and advanced practitioners performing duties aligned with our mission values and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associates Degree Diploma or BSN).
Experience: RN experience or LVN CMA paramedic and/or device industry experience will be considered for candidates with that experience prior to being an RN.
License(s): Is personally responsible for obtaining and maintaining a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science.
Experience: EKG knowledge required with understanding of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
Certification(s): CCDS through HRS within 24 months of hire preferred.
Skills Knowledge Abilities:
Excellent clinical communication skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in CIED remote and programming or ability to demonstrate proficiency within six months of hire.
Knowledge of medical terminology specific to electrophysiology preferred.
EKG knowledge required with understanding of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias.
