Whats the role
Youll be at the centre of transforming how Westpac detects and prevents financial crime. As a Product Owner in our Financial Crime Surveillance (FCS) team youll shape and deliver products with project teams that will help improve how we identify investigate and respond to financial crime risks.
Furthermore youll turn complex business and regulatory needs into clear actionable product priorities. Youll use AI to help design smarter workflows support automation and advanced analytics and make sure our tools are practical scalable and fit for purpose.
This role is about balance bringing together compliance obligations user needs and technical possibilities to deliver better outcomes for customers and the business.
This is a full-time permanent role based in Sydneywith flexible working options available.
What do I need
Youll bring a product mindset and a strong ability to work across teams. To succeed youll need:
- Proven experience in product ownership within transformation programs ideally in financial services or a regulated environment (essential)
- Experience using AI to improve workflows enable automation and support advanced analytics (advantageous)
- Ability to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into clear product features and prioritised backlogs; familiarity with AML KYC and surveillance concepts
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and confidence partnering with technology and data project teams to deliver outcomes
- Curious analytical and solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
