Position Summary
The Classroom Paraprofessional at Spero Elementary plays an essential role in supporting high-quality instruction and a positive school culture. Working under the direction of the classroom teacher and school leadership the paraprofessional assists with instructional support classroom management and student engagement to ensure students can fully access learning.
The ideal candidate is dependable proactive and student-centered. They thrive in a structured high-expectations environment and enjoy working collaboratively with teachers and staff to help students succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Support classroom instruction by assisting the teacher with small groups individual students and classroom activities
Help reinforce lessons and practice skills in literacy math and other subject areas
Assist with classroom organization preparation of materials and instructional resources
Monitor and support student behavior helping maintain a structured and positive classroom environment
Provide additional support to students who may need help staying engaged organized or on task
Supervise students during transitions recess lunch and other school activities as needed
Help maintain a safe respectful and supportive learning environment for all students
Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student growth and classroom routines
Uphold and contribute to Speros mission-driven team-oriented culture

Must meet Oklahoma paraprofessional requirements (Tier 1 Credentialing through OSDE) including one of the following:
Associates degree or higher or
48 college credit hours or
Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment (455) or WorkKeys Test (Bronze)
Experience working with children preferred but not required
Ability to work effectively with students teachers and school staff
