Job Summary
This position focuses on precision optical testing and alignment. The candidate will support the assembly integration testing and qualification of an optical metrology system as well as the testing and optimization of precision optical systems.
Education
Associates Degree required; Bachelors Degree preferred
Degree in Optics or a related field preferred but not required
Experience
7 years in optics (with Associates Degree) or
5 years in optics (with Bachelors Degree)
Background in optical alignment test setup and data processing
Requirements
Solid understanding of geometrical optics
Experience analyzing data using standard tools (e.g. Excel MATLAB Python)
Ability to learn technical procedures quickly and contribute to workflow improvements
Comfortable working in a research environment with evolving requirements and open-ended problem solving
Self-directed; able to work effectively with limited on-site supervision
Demonstrated safe-handling practices for sensitive optical components
Preferred
Experience working in a cleanroom environment
