Job Summary

Primary Purpose

The Criminal Process Specialist is responsible for clerical duties related to processing inmates notification of arrest to the appropriate agencies processing bond and court documents and other related duties. This position must be able to handle confidential matters without compromising confidentiality.

Education and Qualification Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or Equivalency and 3-5 years related work experience
  • Valid Florida Drivers License
  • Basic knowledge of general office equipment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and SmartCop Programs

Duties

  • Complete court updates to include Nolle- Pros dismissals transfers and sentences
  • Ensure the accuracy and validity of court actions
  • Reconcile transportation and court lists
  • Serve as point of contact for all correspondence from court and State Attorneys Office
  • Monitor all cases for SIGHT program
  • Review all cases during sentences update for compliance with F.S. 943.01 & 775.3 F.S. 943.325 and F.S. 940.061
  • Calculate jail time for each felony docket
  • Process all special jail audit requests from courts Department of Corrections inmates and attorneys
  • Serve at the point of contact for Drug Court
  • Place and monitor HOLD on all Probation Programs
  • Prepare and deliver Restoration of Rights Packets for sentenced defendants
  • Ensure all updates and releases are delivered promptly for verification (2nd Signature) and release
  • Monitor court notifications related to inmates serving time on weekends
  • Prepare bond transmittal daily and transport to courthouse with cash and checks
  • Audit receipt books
  • Follow up on fugitive from justice paperwork
  • Review all arrest documents and paperwork related to First Appearance and weekend arrests
  • Attend First Appearance to assist with judiciary proceedings
  • Complete all updates after First Appearance
  • Monitor in state holds
  • Facilitate all proceedings related to Immigration and Customs
  • Follow up on Governors Warrants
  • Point of Contact for Parole Commission and Department of Corrections
  • Process mail which includes out of county arrests packets
  • Handle all Quality Control changes
  • Complete Bi Annual Audits
  • Weekly Review of HOLDS on active and checked out to another agency inmates
  • Follow up on Juvenile Arrest Notifications
  • Review received Teletypes
  • Acknowledge Court House emails
  • Maintain copies of all arrest and bonds transmittals
  • Other duties assigned

  • Maintain confidentiality/security of paper and electronic files
  • Process/compile/disseminate record/public record information as directed by approving authority in accordance with lawful requirements
  • Provide assistance to employees and other public and private entities in an effort to meet their needs and build positive community relationships/resolve complaints/address conflicts
  • Maintain continuity and operational efficiency by accurate and timely dissemination of information to Staff and co-workers
  • Adhere to leave overtime and attendance policies/procedures (i.e. arrive promptly regular attendance at work notification to supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents etc.)
