Job Title: Security Control Assessor (SCA)

Location(s): Monterey CA

Hours: Regular Full-Time

Salary Range: $65k/yr - $78k/yr

Clearance Requirements

This position requires a current and active Secret Clearance at the time of application.

What you will be doing:

The Security Control Assessor is responsible for conducting independent comprehensive assessments of the management operational and technical security controls and control enhancements within or inherited by an information technology (IT) system. The primary objective is to determine the overall effectiveness of these controls as defined in NIST 800- 37.

Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

• Perform thorough evaluations to ensure compliance with NIST 800- 37 and related standards.
• Identify and Recommend Improvements: Assess control effectiveness identify vulnerabilities and recommend enhancements.
• Provide detailed reports and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Work with IT and security teams to implement recommended measures.
• Keep up to date with security trends threats and best practices.
• ACAS Microsoft Defender STIGs Microsoft 365 SaaS Security RHEL Windows Server MacOS and eMASS.

Education:

• Educational requirements include AA/AS from an accredited college or university or substitute with 3 years experience.

Certifications:

• Require anyone of the following IAT Level II (CySA Security CND or SSCP) Certification and CE/OS Certification.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role; however some filing is required. The ability to move files open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary would be required.
