Job Overview
Tekberry is seeking a certified Lenel Access Control Specialist to support a critical access control optimization project for our client a leading academic institution. This role will focus on evaluating consolidating and standardizing access levels within the Lenel OnGuard system across a portfolio of 300 buildings.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Lenel systems strong analytical capabilities and experience working on large-scale access control environments. This position plays a key role in improving security operational efficiency and access governance across campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities
Access Control Assessment & Optimization
Conduct a comprehensive review of existing access levels and configurations across 300 buildings
Identify redundant outdated or inefficient access structures
Develop and implement a standardized framework aligned with security policies and user roles
Lenel System Configuration
Configure and optimize Lenel OnGuard components including:
Access levels
Time zones
Cardholder groups
Related access control functionalities
Ensure accurate and secure assignment of access permissions
Testing & Validation
Perform ongoing system testing to validate access configurations
Ensure cardholders have appropriate access rights based on role and policy
Troubleshoot and resolve configuration issues
Documentation & Reporting
Document assessments configuration changes and testing results
Maintain accurate records in accordance with internal standards
Provide clear reporting on progress risks and improvements
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with internal security and facilities teams
Communicate project updates challenges and recommendations
Support continuous improvement of access control processes
Required Qualifications
Certification in Lenel Access Control systems (required)
Proven experience configuring and managing Lenel OnGuard systems
Strong knowledge of access levels time zones cardholder groups and access control structures
Experience working on large-scale or multi-site access control projects
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage project timelines effectively
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education campus or enterprise environments
Background in security systems optimization or access governance
Experience documenting and standardizing system configurations
Familiarity with compliance or security frameworks
Work Environment
100% onsite role across Stanford University campus locations
Frequent travel between buildings for testing and configuration work
Requires hands-on work with access control systems and field validation
Must be eligible to operate Stanford University vehicles (valid drivers license required)
Additional Requirements
Must pass: MVR Basic Background Certification Education verification
