Job Summary

The Womens and Gender Studies Department in the Bellarmine College of Liberal Arts at Loyola Marymount University seeks candidates for a Visiting Assistant Professor faculty position for the 2026-2027 academic year.

We seek a scholar with expertise in sexuality studies disability studies feminist research methods and/or transnational feminisms. The applicant would be expected to teach introduction level courses in Womens and Gender Studies including courses with emphases in disability studies and sexuality studies and an upper division course in feminist research methods. We welcome teacher-scholars with doctoral degrees in Womens and Gender Studies Ethnic Studies or other cognate interdisciplinary fields; candidates with PhDs in other social science and humanities disciplines with designated emphases in the areas outlined above will also be considered. The PhD is required; however ABD applicants who anticipate completion of the doctorate by Fall 2026 will also be considered.

The Department places a high priority on diverse perspectives social justice and inclusive pedagogy in fostering academic excellence. Candidates must show promise in both research and teaching.
