Under general supervision this position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to students/faculty/staff who phone-in and/or email inquiries; offer information regarding state and federal Veterans Affairs Educational Benefits. Requires the ability to process a high volume of data through various sources with the ability to analyze and anticipate complex issues. Requires attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy with routine and repetitive tasks.
Salary: $45000/annually
Responsibilities:
Coordinates all services relating to Veterans Affairs educational benefits including recruitment registration certification and retention. Acting as a certifying official for VA Educational Benefits through VA Once. Requests proofs and distributes student-requested transcripts; produces official letters verifying student enrollment history; verifies official class grades and proof of residency in order to meet federal and/or state requirements.
Monitors and completes documents required by the Regional and State Veterans Office for enrollment certification of V.A. students. Monitors and verifies veteran student enrollment and report to Veterans Administration (VA); ensures courses are not being repeated and are a part of the approved major program; monitors student progress and attendance. Advises veteran students and helps resolve pay and certification problems. Processes a high volume of data through various sources with the ability to analyze and anticipate complex issues. Demonstrates attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy with routine and repetitive tasks.
Assists with the planning and execution of outreach events related to veterans education benefits resources and on-campus support. Assists in the presentation of workshops/orientations for students/ community/ faculty and staff over VA resources support student programming and guidelines. Helps provide guidance and coordination of on-campus programming for students in a wide range of topics in addition to VA benefits. Conducts peer program reviews and participates in association .Prepares written correspondence/reports such as letters to veterans and the VA with regards to the certification process policies and/or procedures. Assists with the presentation of workshops/orientation for students/community/faculty and staff over VA Education Benefits and guidelines/conference/workshops to identify best practices.

Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree or higher in related field.
Two (2) years of related experience in managing records student programs and/or working in information technology.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with multicultural groups of faculty staff students and the public.
Ability to work quickly accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to assimilate from oral and written sources a broad knowledge of campus and external entities policies and procedures and apply them with consistency to individual situations.
Ability to work cooperatively with others and provide excellent customer service to students employees and the community.
Ability to multi task.
This position typically works Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. May include some weekend and evening hours.
