SAP ODataABAP Senior Engineer

DIGIS Tribes develop and maintain applications for Business Lines Avionics Global Services AGS inside Thales GBU AVS.

AVS business lines provides all around the world customer support and maintenance of avionics Thales equipment.

The applications are built on top and outside SAP ERP. Their main business goals are to facilitate users day-to-day works (logisticians repair technicians marketing sales ) and improve overall industrial performance.

Such applications need to be connected in real time to SAP ERP through OData web services to read update or delete data (SAP objects). We also have multiple reports and dashboards executed from SAP as wel.

The service is composed with multiple development squads (web applications API middleware ) and you will be on boarded into a hybrid international squad (between France and India) in charge of SAP OData developments SAP ABAP developments and pure SAP configurations

Responsibilities

• Analyze business needs expressions (functionalities features )
• Determine (with the whole squad) technical impacts and specifications to implement functionalities
• Develop ABAP code and OData web service to expose functionalities and data
• Write Unit and Integration tests to assert new developments and protect against regression
• Answer direct end users support tickets on question regarding processes data or configuration
• In relevant case prepare and develop bug fixing (if needed)
• Debugging and Performance analysis relevant techniques
• Roles and Authorization management in SAP ( in GRC as well )

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as an SAP technical consultant or in a similar role with at least 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
• Proven experience as an SAP technical consultant or in a similar role with at least 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in SAP OData exposure development (CRUD operations using deep entities streaming )
• Proven experience in roles and authorizations management in SAP
• Proven experience in SAP ECC 6 version (experience in SAP 4 HANA would be a plus)
• CS module experience will be well appreciated
• Web API (HTTP verbs error code swagger Open API documentation ) experience will be well appreciated
• Experience working on ticketing system and for direct end user support will be well appreciated
• Strong understanding of SAP best practices and methodologies
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an AGILE SCRUM context
