Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Newark NY
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 Weeks
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide comprehensive respiratory care across acute and long-term care settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in critical care emergency response and ventilator management with the ability to adapt to varying patient populations and facility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic pulmonary conditions
- Perform patient assessments and develop appropriate respiratory care plans
- Administer respiratory therapies medications and oxygen support
- Assist with and perform intubation extubation and airway management
- Manage and monitor patients on mechanical ventilation and non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
- Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis
- Provide tracheostomy care and suctioning (ETT oral nasal NT)
- Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and equipment issues
- Document patient care accurately and in a timely manner
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams
Schedule & Work Details
- Shift: 3x12 Nights (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (approx. 6 weekend shifts per contract)
- Floating: Required across Eastern Region facilities (acute care & long-term care)
- Block Scheduling: Not guaranteed
Required Qualifications
- Active RRT Certification
- Active State License (must be in hand at submission)
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Certifications:
- BLS (AHA)
