Job Title:MS VolleyballCoach
Reports to: Athletic Director & Principal
Position Summary:Prince of Peace Catholic School is seeking a passionate enthusiastic Middle School Volleyball Coach to help build our program by maximizing potential and empowering confidence within our student athletes. TheCoach will embrace the philosophy faith-based beliefs and Code of Conduct forPOP Athletics as established by the POP School Board and theDavenport Diocese exemplifying the highest standards of sportsmanship our Catholic faith and conduct. The Middle School Volleyball Coach will work with the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach to help develop our student athletes and vertically align our volleyball program.
Job Duties:
- Provide overall leadership for the MS Volleyball program and perform all services thereof as scheduled and/or directed by the POP Athletic & Activities Director.
- Present for approval to the POP Athletic Director a schedule for practices scrimmages training sessions and any other activities necessary to field a competitive team for the POP Sport program.
- Responsible for the use care storage and inventory of all POP athletic equipment issued for use by the Sport program including but not limited to uniforms warm-up apparel balls and all other equipment necessary for practice and games/matches conducted by the Sport program.
- Proactively ensure the proper use care cleaning and maintenance of all POP facilities utilized by the Sport program for practices and games/matches.
- Promote the sport with students alumni and members of the community.
- Adhere to the policies regulations and directives of POP Athletics as defined by the POP Athletic Director.
- Supervise motivate nurture teach and lead all student athletes for both on-campus and off-campus activities.
- Contribute toward a culture of cooperation and collaboration with all POP coaches of any sport and all staff members involved with POP athletics.
- Encourage student athletes to participate in multiple sports. The Coach shall ensure that all subordinate coaches share and communicate this same philosophy.
- Hold an annual orientation for student athletes and their parents/guardians prior to the beginning of each Sport season.
- Provide up-to-date scores and statistics to local media and to POP staff for social media posting.
- Adhere to all rules and policies of POP Athletics listed in the POP Coaches Handbook.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the POP Athletic Director.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership with a commitment to athletic excellence within an academic environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with and serve all groups within POP including principal parents and students.
- Must present a professional image.
- Must be able to maintain confidential information.
- Maintain a current state of Iowa drivers license.
- Complete background check andCMG Connect training prior to starting.
- Must hold a valid Iowa coaching authorization/endorsement and/or be properly licensed through the BOEE.
