Job Summary

MaST Community Charter School has an openingfor a School Leader. The School Leaderis an energetic instructional leader responsible for overseeing all school activities educational programs financial operations and staff management. They ensure curriculum alignment with state standards mentor staff and promote parental involvement while maintaining effective communication within the school community. The position requires strong leadership administrative experience and the ability to develop and implement strategic plans in line with the schools mission.

The start date for the position is as soon as possible. Up-to-date school clearances are required. This posting will remain active until the position is filled.

Qualifications:

  1. Hold a masters degree as well as completed all administrative coursework and internship for administration.
  2. Have a Pennsylvania certificate as a School School Leader (K-12 Principal) (unless otherwise authorized by the board) as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
  3. Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design teaching and instruction for individuals and groups and the measurement of instructional effects.
  4. Demonstrate a working knowledge of Common Core and Pennsylvania Standards learning styles curricula and data analysis across K-12.
  5. Strong leadership and communication skills.
  6. At least five years of successful teaching experience.
  7. Demonstrate an ability to facilitate communication among coworkers students and parents.
  8. Knowledge of GSuite Applications: Drive Docs Sheets Slides Forms etc.
  9. Must be able to evaluate problems prioritize work and determine solutions.
  10. Must possess and maintain valid Pennsylvania school clearances.

Job Overview: The School Leader will direct and manage the instructional program and support the School Leader in the supervision of operations and personnel at the school level. The School Leader (K-12 Principal) will lead support and evaluate instructional staff of assigned grade levels and build relationships with their assigned student body and their families. Additionally the School Leader (K-12 Principal) will assist in monitoring compliance with school policies the success of instructional programs and the operation of all school activities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Report to and support the CEO in carrying out the mission and vision of MaST Schools (MaST MaST II MaST III)
  2. Observe supervise and evaluate teachers counselors and staff to further the MaST vision for excellence using the Danielson Model.
  3. Provide teachers with timely and constructive feedback via walkthroughs and informal/formal observations based on classroom instruction and management to positively develop teacher practice.
  4. Purposely build leadership capacity among teachers and staff.
  5. Support the professional growth of staff members in a differentiated manner based on identified needs and goals in Individual Professional Development Plans.
  6. Support the development and implementation of SLOs.
  7. Responsible for developing leadership among assigned staff overseeing grade level leaders and team teachers and provide ongoing input to bi-weekly team meetings
  8. Collaborate with the Local Administration and the Network team on developing implementing and monitoring curriculum guidelines and curriculum improvement
  9. Work with K-12 administrators and RTII staff to monitor and implement the elementary school RTII program and assist with data analysis
  10. Act as the Student Assistance Program (SAP) Administrator for students in the assigned grades.
  11. Assist the School Guidance counselor with the oversight and implementation of the PBIS program.
  12. Supervise and facilitate the creation of the master schedule and placement of students based on data for the assigned grades.
  13. Assist with assessment coordination for the assigned grades.
  14. Work with attendance officer to monitor attendance compliance to reduce chronic absenteeism and attend student attendance improvement plan meetings
  15. Supervise student and staff procedures supervision of students during morning arrival lunch recess and dismissal.
  16. Ensure a safe secure and orderly environment for all and manage student discipline for students in collaboration with the Dean of Students.
  17. Be a visible and consistent presence in the school building and other locations during travel times.
  18. Attends school-wide events and programs to build relationships with students staff and the family community.
  19. Perform other related tasks as assigned by other district administrators as designated by the CEO.

Professional Obligations:

  1. Enforce administration policies and rules governing students.
  2. Collaborate with the entire school community in developing evaluating and revising school programs.
  3. Prepare reports on students and activities as required by the administration.
  4. Attend professional meetings educational conferences and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
  5. Host and attend staff meetings and provide committee opportunities.
  6. Adhere to Professional Standard of Conduct including confidentiality code of ethics and appropriate internet use as outlined in the Policy and Procedures manual and Staff Handbook.
  7. Follow all approved board of trustee policies including Financial and Purchasing Attendance RtII and Curriculum Implementation.
  8. Perform administrative duties such as assisting the school media center hall cafeteria monitoring and bus loading and unloading.
  9. Complete school-mandated technology PD hours.
  10. Perform all additional related duties and responsibilities as designated by the Local Administration CEO or Network Team.

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) months. Contract terms and salary to be determined by Board of Trustees.
