Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:00 PM
Position Overview
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide specialized care for patients with wound ostomy and continence needs. This role involves comprehensive patient assessment care planning staff education and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct focused health assessments related to wound ostomy and continence care
- Perform physical assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Recommend appropriate treatments medications and interventions
- Monitor and document patient responses to treatments including complex wounds and fistulas
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and initiate referrals as needed
- Educate patients families and staff on wound care management and prevention strategies
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
- Develop and deliver staff education programs and training sessions
- Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement preventive measures
- Ensure culturally competent care and maintain patient confidentiality
- Assist with selection and management of wound care supplies equipment and specialty devices
Required Qualifications
- Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verification required)
- AHA BLS Certification
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience
- Hands-on experience in wound and colostomy care
Required Certifications (One of the Following)
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) WOCNCB
- Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) ABWM
- Wound Care Certified (WCC) NAWCO
