Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY
The Nursing Faculty/BSN Program Coordinator position holds 80% nursing faculty and 20% BSN program oversight responsibilities in coordination with the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Programs and the Director of Nursing. The BSN Program Coordinator supports and promotes the vision mission and goals of Ottawa University and Ottawa University Nursing and supports excellence in student learning and progression. Academic rank depends on credentials and experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (provide list of items which are essential to effective outcomes in this role):
Nursing Teaching Faculty (80%):
- Teach 8 courses per year (80% teaching load)

BSN Program Coordinator (20%):
- Provides effective coordination of BSN program operations in collaboration with the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Programs and the Director of Nursing.
- Position supports regulatory program compliance and oversight of day-to-day activities of the BSN Prelicensure and RN-BSN programs through the following duties/responsibilities:
- Coordination to ensure academic contract currency and notification for payment
- Coordination with the RN-BSN Professor in Charge regarding student and clinical Practicum needs
- Monitors BSN curriculum currency
- Submission of Prelicensure clinical faculty timesheets to the Director of Nursing every 2 weeks.
- Coordinates with the Director of Undergraduate Nursing Programs regarding guidance of nursing students and/or potential nursing students.
- Ensures quality and integrity of the academic program curriculum services and operations.
- Effectively manages relationships with stakeholders internal and external to OU in performance of role.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION:(education based on essential job duties and requirements consistent with business necessity):Master of Science in Nursing degree required; Licensed RN in Kansas Multistatelicense preferred. A doctorate in nursing from an accredited college or university is preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: (experience based on requirements in role and are consistent with business necessity)
Knowledge and skills related to the teaching of adults and teaching methodology as well as curriculum development and evaluation.
A current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Kansas multistate license preferred.
Two years of full-time experience in teaching nursing theory and clinical practice in a state-approved nursing education program at the baccalaureate degree level or higher.
Two years of full-time clinical experience as a practicing Registered Nurse.
Experience with online education preferred.

- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite in particular Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook required.

- Utilize flexibility adaptability and innovation to meet program and student needs and promote evidence-based practice.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills.

- Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work. This may involve some lifting carrying moving pushing and/or pulling of objects/materials of light weight (15-20 pounds).
- Work occasional irregular hours including some nights and weekends.
- Articulate verbal communication with students faculty and staff expected.
- Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
