Job Summary
Amazon Japans fulfillment network delivers tons of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. As we work towards becoming Earths most customer-centric company we are looking for motivated customer-focused individuals who want to join our team as an Operations Manager.
You will be responsible for leading a functional area (Inbound/Outbound) in one of our Fulfillment Centers and managing the operational performance of the team to meet the business goals. Your team will be of nearly 20-300 individuals including several Sr. Area Managers/Area Managers who directory manages 5-50 associates. You will create annual operational plans with a budget of billions of yen and you are responsible for the execution. You are expected to demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills as well as people management skills such as coaching and mentoring to ensure performance objectives are met as a team building positive employee relations and reinforcing leadership of your team.
Our fulfillment network launches new Operations sites every year providing various opportunities for your professional growth. You can acquire new perspectives and skills through cross-functional work with members from diverse backgrounds from part-time associates to Directors.
We expect Operations Manager to be the next Site Leader or Senior Operations Manager of operations functions. Site Leader or Senior Operations Manager is expected to lead even larger organization and/or execute regional or network addition you can explore a full range of Amazons Operations opportunities in Supply Chain and Transportation & Logistics.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead FC operations which is the heart of Amazons logistics business and provide or contribute to customers with better services with your own new ideas.
- Responsible for the operational performance of a function in terms of safety quality and costs.
- Build annual operation plans while controlling costs by reviewing daily/weekly forecasts and results reacting short-/long-term demand fluctuations and collaborating stakeholders including third party logistics.
- Drive short- and long-term staffing planning quality initiatives process change initiatives and other Change/Six Sigma initiatives to enable the functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed business goals.
- Support mentor and motivate your salaried and hourly workforce to be more productive higher performing diverse and inclusive. Lead with empathy have fun at work and make members have fun with a vision for and commitment to your team members personal success.
- Work closely with other functions for business goals to get support and secure resources for cross-functional projects and initiatives while providing required support and resources with other functions..
- Report issues with potential influences to multiple functional areas along with ideas for solutions to Sr. Operations Manager/Site leader/General Manager/Directors and relevant stakeholders.
- Lead large-scope projects such as DEI and sustainability within a site and/or a region and large-scale events such as Family day and volunteering events.
- Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments shifts and among the network.

Bachelors degree or 3years of relevant work experience
