Job Summary
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a civil engineering/construction background to support and lead projects in the San Diego area. This is a hybrid role combining remote work with regular on-site project presence.
This position is ideal for a self-driven independent professional who thrives in a less structured environment and can take ownership of projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage civil engineering and construction projects from planning through completion
- Coordinate with clients consultants contractors and stakeholders
- Oversee project schedules budgets and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with local regulations permitting and safety requirements
- Conduct site visits and provide on-site project oversight as needed
- Identify and resolve project risks and issues proactively
- Prepare and present project updates and reports
- Maintain strong client relationships and support business growth
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of project management experience in civil construction or infrastructure projects
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Familiarity with San Diego market codes and permitting processes
- Experience with SDUSD (San Diego Unified School District) projects is a strong plus but not required
- Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills
Work Environment
- Hybrid role: Work from home on-site project visits
- Flexible structure with high autonomy
- No formal office setting currently - ideal for someone comfortable operating independently
Compensation & Employment Type
- Base salary: $125000 (flexible depending on experience)
