Summary
The Spot Welder is responsible for assembling and welding metal components using resistance spot welding techniques while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. This role involves operating fabrication equipment inspecting products and supporting production efficiency in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Select position and assemble metal components using fixtures and layouts.
- Perform resistance spot welding to meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect welded parts for defects and ensure proper tolerances using measuring tools.
- Operate fabrication equipment such as deburrers brake press drill press punch press and NC turret press.
- Adjust welding parameters including welding arms tips temperature and timing settings.
- Perform metal finishing tasks such as grinding polishing bending and cutting.
- Move materials between workstations and support production flow.
- Maintain records of production output and setup times.
- Perform routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment functionality.
- Follow all safety procedures ISO standards and quality guidelines.
- Maintain a clean safe and organized workspace.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with team members and support cross-functional operations.
- Train and mentor new employees as needed.
- Utilize basic computer systems for documentation and training activities.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Hands-on welding experience (required).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings part numbers and work instructions.
- Basic computer skills or willingness to learn.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing bending reaching).
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- 3 6 months of manufacturing or fabrication experience.
- Experience with metal fabrication equipment and welding processes.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality-controlled environments.
- Experience in metal finishing and repair processes.
- Exposure to continuous improvement or lean manufacturing practices.
