Job Description
POSITION: SPI Community Relations Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS: Current student at Eastern Mennonite University (Graduate or Undergraduate)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Events & Community Life
- Support SPI opening celebrations creating a welcoming and engaging start to the program as well as closing ceremonies ensuring a meaningful and reflective conclusion to each session.
- Support the design and facilitation of non-classroom SPI activities that foster community connection and participant engagement.
- Schedule and coordinate evening and weekend events throughout SPI.
- Publicize events through appropriate communication channels to ensure strong participation.
- Collaborate with the SPI Chaplain and Community Assistants to coordinate programming and avoid scheduling conflicts.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Serve as a bridge between SPI participants and local community groups and organizations.
- Facilitate participant connections with local opportunities for engagement such as faith communities service groups and civic organizations (e.g. church groups Rotary Club Fellowship of Reconciliation).
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with local partners to support ongoing collaboration and participant involvement.
Program Support
- Provide additional support to SPI programs and activities as needed in collaboration with the broader SPI team.
POSITION DETAILS: Part-time (20 hours/week) for five weeks from May 13th June 16th 2025.
