Job Summary
Position Title: Salesforce Solution Architect Public Sector
Location: Remote (Albany NY preferred)
Estimated Hours: 1840 hours (approximately 1 year full-time)
Target Hourly Rate: $80 $100 per hour (fully loaded 1099 or W2)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce Solution Architect to lead the end-to-end architecture for a major public sector modernization initiative. This role will serve as the technical authority for the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) implementation ensuring alignment with the NYS Center of Excellence (CoE) guardrails and providing technical leadership to system integrators and development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the full architecture blueprint including business processes integration strategy data models security frameworks and component design
- Design multi-cloud Salesforce solutions leveraging Service Cloud Experience Cloud OmniStudio Data Cloud MuleSoft Agentforce and Tableau
- Extend Public Sector Salesforce solutions and data models to meet specific agency requirements
- Serve as both a designer and gatekeeper in the Solution Architecture Review (SAR) process
- Provide technical due diligence risk mitigation strategies and architectural board input throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure use cases fit into standardized Salesforce accelerators before creating custom silos
Required Qualifications
- 6 years in Salesforce architecture and solution design with 2 years in enterprise or government environment
- 3 years with Service Cloud Experience Cloud OmniStudio Data Cloud MuleSoft Agentforce Tableau
Technical Skills
- 3 years with APEX Visualforce Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Flow
- Integration
- 3 years with REST/SOAP APIs and MuleSoft
- Experience designing large multi-org or multi-tenant Salesforce solutions
- Deep understanding of Salesforce Well-Architected Framework
Certification: Salesforce Certified Application Architect (required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NYS government or other public sector Salesforce implementations
- Experience with case management systems and eligibility determination platforms
- Familiarity with NYS CoE guardrails and architecture review processes
Soft Skills
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong written communication for architecture diagrams technical roadmaps and specifications
- Ability to provide highly effective knowledge transfer to technical and non-technical stakeholders
